About Us
About The Founder
Hey, I’m Jorj—creator of Tanji Blue.
I started silversmithing as a little hobby, a way to combine my love for art and nature into something I could hold in my hands. I work with natural stones, setting them in sterling silver and often photographing them back where they belong—out in nature.
Jewellery has always been something that makes me feel the most beautiful and the most me—and that’s exactly the feeling I want to share with the world.
I launched Tanji Blue in January 2024, and thanks to all of you, it quickly grew into my full-time job. I’m beyond grateful.
I’m so excited to keep growing this little brand and to keep creating pieces that reflect the world around us and all its beauty.
Whether you’re here for your first piece or you’ve been following since the start, I’m so glad you’re part of this journey.
Love,
Jorj
Meet The Team
I launched Tanji Blue in January 2024, and what began as a one-woman show has grown into a tight-knit crew of creatives and makers. Six months in, my partner Nick joined the ride, and at the start of 2025, we welcomed Sarah to the team. Not long after, Liv came on board—and just like that, we became a team of four silversmiths working side by side in our little Perth studio.
I still design every piece myself, but it’s far from a solo job these days. Sarah, Liv, and I shape and solder each piece by hand—every curve, every join, every fine detail. Nick’s our stone setter and polishing guru - he’s the one making everything shine, adding those final touches that bring it all together.
We’re a small team, and we’re proud of it. We know exactly where each piece comes from—whose hands crafted it, whose eyes checked it over, and whose energy brought it to life.
We’re building more than just jewellery—we’re building a community. Something slow, intentional, and proudly handmade—so you can feel good about what you wear and the small biz you’re supporting.
About Our Gold
About Our Gold
Our gold pieces are made with 18ct gold vermeil — a thick layer of solid gold (3 microns) bonded over sterling silver. Vermeil is a high-quality alternative to solid gold, offering durability and long wear without the solid gold price tag.
We’ve chosen vermeil for its warm tone, lasting quality, and how beautifully it brings our designs to life
Each piece is handmade in Bali by a small team of silversmiths with over 20 years of experience. We work closely with them to bring our gold designs to life with the same care and intention we put into every Tanji Blue piece.
This collaboration allows us to continue handcrafting all our sterling silver collections at home in Western Australia, giving each piece the time and attention it deserves — without compromising the quality or vision of our gold pieces.
Care Guide
To keep your gold vermeil shining:
- Avoid wearing it in water, especially in the ocean or shower
- Remove before applying lotions, perfumes, or sunscreen
- Store it in a dry place, ideally in a soft pouch or box
- Gently clean with a soft, dry cloth if it becomes dull
With a little love, your gold pieces will stay beautiful for years to come.
